The AIOH Foundation are very pleased to announce another grant winner!
GCG and the University of Queensland applied for a grant to investigate exposures to quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs) in cleaning occupations. The grant will also assist in developing a quantitative assessment of the risk of exposure to these widespread group of chemicals.
The Foundation Board were particularly interested in this application because it will help build our understanding of a possible cause for workplace asthma and also exposures to a vulnerable cohort of workers – cleaners – who are often low paid, in precarious employment positions, poorly skilled with little knowledge of chemical hazards.
Congratulations team – we look forward to seeing the findings of your work and an analytical method that can be used here in Australia!
We are still accepting applications through 2023 – for more information please visit the Grants page.
